Who Do You Provide Services To?
The Willow Center provides grief support and resources to families with children three to eighteen grieving the death of a loved one. There are no other requirements to be part of the program and ALL services are free. We do not provide counseling or therapy!
What Is Your Service Area?
The Willow Center provides group services to local families in North Idaho. Groups are held in Lewiston, but we serve families from the Camas Prarie to the Palouse to Eastern Washington. We are open to any families willing to attend.
When Are Groups Held?
Group is held every first and third Tuesday of the month at a donated facility in the Lewiston area. The space is donated free of charge to Willow Center.
What Is Group Like?
Our grief peer support group programs allow children, teens and their adult caregivers to learn and share about grief, death and loss in a safe and supportive environment. Group runs from 7 pm - 8 pm and is followed by a light snack where families can interact with each other and our facilitator volunteers about what they have learned.
How Long Have You Provided Services?
We have been blessed to be able to provide services to the LC Valley and surrounding areas since 1999. Since 2009, we have provided Camp Erin to children ages six to seventeen from many communities and it is free.
How do I Apply For Services?
To apply for referrals, resources or services simply call or email our office and we will provide bereavement information free of charge.
If you would like to attend group simply call our office and we will collect some basic information about your family and loss. A staff member or Program Coordinator will then reach out to you to schedule an in-person intake where information about your family will be collected, how group works and what it is like is explained, and allows us to better understand your unique needs and situation. This intake typically takes an hour to two hours depending on the size of your family.
